  2. What is Vitiligo? Vitiligo is an autoimmune condition in which the cells responsible for producing skin pigment are attacked and destroyed, resulting in patches of white skin. Read More

  3. Common Causes of Vitiligo A lack of melanin in the skin causes vitiligo. Melanins are produced by skin cells called melanocytes and they are responsible for the colour of your skin. When you have vitiligo, you don't have enough working melanocytes to produce enough melanin. As a result, you develop white patches on your skin or hair.
