  3. The TV Show • 1. Lillian adjusted the TV’s contrast so she could get a clearer picture of the bronze statue. 2. The host of the show was standing by a display pedestal and talking about the statue. 3. Lillian thought the host seemed subdued and lifeless. 4. Having studied psychology in school, Lillian felt that she understood the host’s behavior. 5. She decided he felt bored with his life and his existence. 6. But suddenly, the host was speaking jubilantly and pointing happily at a large painting on the wall.
