What is a chatbot? A chatbot is a computer program or artificial intelligence, designed to convincingly simulate how a human would behave as a conversational partner, thereby passing the Turing test. Chatbots are typically used in dialog systems for various practical purposes including customer service or information acquisition. Some chatterbots use sophisticated natural language processing systems, but many simpler systems scan for keywords within the input, then pull a reply with the most matching keywords, or the most similar wording pattern, from a database. Why are Chatbots Important? Chatbots are revolutionizing the way we interact. It has become an interesting junction for both human and machine learning. There had been a significant rise of adoption of chatbots in 2017 across all industries. The segment that has seen highest adoption is particularly the financial services and insurance industries.
