EDUCATIONAL INNOVATION: More than a Change, the Great Transformation of La Purísima de Callosa de Segura

Reflection and analysis are part of any change and, after years of research exploring formulas that brought us closer to educational change from different angles, all enriching, but all different, we say stop. We discovered that we were prepared to be able to guide our change and we resorted to introspection in the CMT charisma of our educational mission to mark some guidelines. Take a step back to make sense of the change. We mark that the integral education of our students, the follow-up, the personalized attention and the preparation for the life, for the today, should be the routes that would limit our trip and they would assure us the effectiveness of the change.

  1. One day in June, more than ten years ago, we hung John Dewey's appointment in the administration office. "If we teach today's students how we taught yesterday, we are stealing their future" and we embarked on a journey of no return to the transformation of a center, whose identity was already part of the essence of all that sailed that day. It was not hard for us to decide, since we were starting an adventure under the protection of a school with more than 125 years of educational service belonging to a centennial congregation with referents widely rooted in mission and change. Like many before us and many others who will enrol later in the ships of their schools, we began our journey full of ideas, enthusiasm and enthusiasm, but without a stable course to guide us. For years, we specialized in EFQM quality, we ordered our processes and teams, we worked projects, we marked change initiatives, we travelled to many schools to share change proposals ... and we learned a lot, from everyone. We had achieved this: all the teachers were out of our respective comfort zones and the school started to change by convincing us of the need for a different education. The hardest thing was done, we were on the path of change ... but without setting course. TOWARDS A REAL AND EFFECTIVE INNOVATION. RETROCED TO ADVANCE.
