  4. 7 Elements And Principles Of Interior Design Interior design is an art, to become an interior designer people want to be creative and have technical knowledge. The space designed by them should be attractive and allow the user to perform his task without any distraction. Expert designers follow a set of rules to improve their creativity and skills. The elements and principles of interior design followed by expert designers are space, lines, form, pattern, light, color, texture. If you are looking for some office interior design then these seven elements will definitely help you. https://www.dshelldesign.com/elements-and-principles-of-interior-design/

  5. Space Space is the foundation of an interior designing, and now we need to understand the concept of space. In interior design, space means flooring area or you can say carpet area. Expert designer use all the space they have. In interior designing, empty space is considered as a "negative space". Whereas, when objects are inserted into empty space such as furniture. Then the space is treated as a "positive space". To maintain, a balance between positive and negative space is really important for any interior designer & either overcrowding or skimping on furniture items is going to affect the balance there. https://www.dshelldesign.com/elements-and-principles-of-interior-design/

  6. Line The lines provide visual guidance of the interior space and act as a space to define. They are basically divided into three different categories: horizontal, vertical, and dynamic lines. These lines help shape a room. The horizontal line consists of a table, chair, and bed. Interior designers use horizontal lines to make a room appear taller and wider. A vertical line is created by features such as doors, windows, and almirahs. The vertical line gives the illusion that the room is tall. Dynamic line is also known as "angular line", which refers to diagonal, zigzag, or curved lines. It is useful in structuring stairs and adding a dramatic effect to a room. https://www.dshelldesign.com/elements-and-principles-of-interior-design/

  7. Forms Any three-dimensional object in your home is a shape or "form". We can easily create these forms by combining two or more shapes. You can easily highlight them with the help of other elements like textures, patterns, and colors. It follows two types of forms, one is geometric or "man-made" and the other is natural or organic form. Geometric forms are basically hard lines and square edges. Natural forms are created by nature. https://www.dshelldesign.com/elements-and-principles-of-interior-design/

  8. Light Lighting The most important element of interior design is lighting. It helps to highlight other elements such as color, texture, pattern, forms, and lines. Designers are using artificial lights for windows and doors. Artificial lighting is mostly common in interior design. It is classified into three major types as task lighting, center lighting, and mood lighting. Task lighting is usually used for a well-defined purpose. Accent lights are used to highlight a particular thing or show specific items like artworks, structures & so on. Mood lighting or ambient lighting is used for the basic purpose to set the mood of the living space and illuminate the overall space. https://www.dshelldesign.com/elements-and-principles-of-interior-design/

  9. Color Color has the ability to create mood, and change the perception of how big or small a place is. Each color defines three characteristics: hue, value, and intensity. They do various permutations and combinations with textures and colors to give your space a better look. For example, red is the best choice for the dining room and green for the bedroom as it is the color of equality and health. Colors are broadly classified into primary and secondary colors and also include sub-categories: tertiary, complementary, analogous, and monochromatic colors. https://www.dshelldesign.com/elements-and-principles-of-interior-design/

  10. Texture Texture has the ability to bring a unique dimension to the room. It usually comes in two different forms- 1. Visual texture and 2. Actual texture. Visual texture refers to the texture that can easily be seen by our eyes. You can’t experience how these textures actually feel. Actual or tactile textures have 3D characteristics that imply that you can easily see them and feel them with your hands. https://www.dshelldesign.com/elements-and-principles-of-interior-design/

  11. Pattern Patterns always tell a story, add interest and bring interior design to life. It also adds an element of continuity and smooth transition to a living space. The pattern can be any shape and it can even have a repeating design, but most of them are attractive.A plant pattern in the shape of a drop is commonly used nowadays. You can easily see such patterns on the walls and other decorative surfaces. These patterns give you the ability to bring energy, interest, and contrast to your design. A beautiful pattern design helps to bring a room together and give depth to your space. https://www.dshelldesign.com/elements-and-principles-of-interior-design/
