  2. Although learning never stops, the first few steps of your baby’s life are the busiest when it comes to building their brain. You can help build brain development for your infant as more neural connections are forged in the first three years, building a foundation for your baby later as he grows. Here are sometop cognitive development activitiesfor infants to boost brain development. 1. Moving rattle over the crib: You can hang a moving rattle over your baby’s crib or when they are having tummy time. This helps them move their hands and legs while enabling them to hold their head as they try to reach for it. 2. Introduce age appropriate interactive toys: This could be buttons that open doors, or play music, toys that respond to them or make a squeak. This helps build self confidence in an infant as they notice the result of the action when they press a button. 3. Peek-a-boo: According to Jean Piaget’s theory, infants learn the concept of object permanence at 6-7 months of age. Which notes that an object exists even when it’s hidden, games like peek-a-boo and hide and seek help develop attention skills, memory and object permanence for your infant.
