  1. Different Aspect Pilates For Fitness Pilates History Pilates was developed by Joseph Pilates in 1930s. He has studied both the Western and Eastern forms of exercise and wanted to create a system which incorporated both of them and created a perfect blend of both the systems. He believed that one could only improve physical strength by increasing mental strength. Both aspects were interrelated and could not be developed independently. He introduced some principles in Pilates which he considered to be essential to the concept. Pilates Principles Concentration: Joseph believed that concentration was crucial for the Pilates method. He wanted the practitioners to have a mind and body connection while practicing Pilates. A practitioner must be able to feel the different parts being used for each exercise as they move. Control Muscle control is an important part of Pilates which Joseph referred to as "Contrology". He wanted people to be in complete control of their muscles when performing the exercises. The point was to work your muscles against gravity or pulleys to put strain on them and make them stronger. Centering

  2. Pilates concentrates on the control of body by putting emphasis on the bodies center of gravity. The lower back and abs of our body form this center also called the power core. Most pilates exercises place emphasis on the core Flow Pilates borrows the concept of flow from eastern concepts such as Yoga and Tai chi. In Yoga the flow of the body from one pose to other without stopping is a big aspect. Pilates uses the same principle where the flow of the movement is given importance. The shift from one form to another while making it graceful and without wasted movement is critical. Precision Precision relates to the correctness of the movement rather than the number of times its done. A movement when done in the correct manner with the correct speed can be more beneficial than haphazard movement repeated for numerous times. The resistance to the muscle is felt with the correct movement. With an incorrect movement, the muscles never feel the tension and there is no end result. Breathing The most important aspect of any exercise including Pilates is the breathing. A deep breath increases the amount of oxygen pumped into the blood and the supply of nutrients to the muscles. The core is only activated when you take a breath and hold it in.Incorrect breathing can lead to loss of stretch in muscle and developing muscle cramps. Most forms of meditation concentrate only in breathing as it increases the concentration and makes you aware of your different body parts. Benefits The benefits of doing Pilates regularly are the increase in core strength and relief from lower back problem. Even though Pilates can be done individually, its always better to do it in a group. The people in your group will help push you to perform better. Also the rapport you build with people in a group makes group activities more pleasurable and lowers the chances of someone missing sessions. Pilates can help you lose weight and feel better and stronger. In conclusion, it’s a fantastic form of exercise which can calm your mind as well as improving your fitness.
