Interpretation of Results • All BLM states were involved at some level with creation of NHD and WBD. • Significant disparity exists across BLM states concerning participation in NHD Partnerships and development of Stewardship Agreements. • Most BLM states are beginning to download NHD. • Most BLM states are associating attribute/event information to stream network, some as events on the NHD. • Most states are identifying uses for the NHD and associated attribute information.

  5. Needed Actions….. • Internal BLM direction clarifying NHD role in supporting Agency information needs. The BLM Washington Office is developing formal guidance for its distributed field organization. • BLM needs to be proactive to ensure that its organization fully understands the NHD, its intent, uses, limitations, etc. • BLM state organizations need to become more involved in hydrography framework (NHD) efforts within their states (eg. Partnerships, Stewardship Agreements). • State framework groups need to solicit involvement by BLM state organizations.
