    3. Purpose Implement GreenPlan Philadelphia Incentivize stewardship Create partnerships Improve parks and recreation centers Promote sustainability

Eligibility Established groups “friends” groups, advisory councils, residential organizations, neighbor associations, etc. Neighborhood-based leadership City owned parks & Rec centers Public Accessibility Project approval obtained from land owner Recreation – vet through Barb McCabe Fairmount Park – vet through Kate Lapszynski Capital improvements within funding scope: $15,000 (min) - $75,000 (max) Capital includes physical improvements with a minimum 5 year life expectancy Include a “greening” element

    5. Criteria Meet GreenPlan Philadelphia objectives Landscape improvement or “greening” Neighborhood impact Community & partner support Implement within budget and timeline Horticultural maintenance plan Stewardship

    6. Responsibilities Participate in forums for training, networking and resourcing advisory councils, Fairmount Park partner meetings, PG workshops, etc. Submit a project completion report including before and after photos Project maintenance

    8. Selection Review & clarification: August - Sept Selection: September 2009 Design & Implementation: October 2009 – December 2010 Note – if awarded a grant the funds and contracts will be managed for you through PHS

    9. & Suggestions Meet with your PG park coordinator Get approval from City department well in advance of application due date Ensure the request contains a ‘greening” element Include supporting documents Drawings Letters of support Budgets & estimates Publicity & media pieces
