  2. CLASSROOM GETTING ACQUAINTED WITH E-MAILAND POWER POINT Mr. Hornsby is working with the Saturday Morning Veteran’s Upward Bound Students to get relief from the Computer Divide. This is very interesting for me (Robert S. Hall), because I am so far behind the rest of the world and the New Orleans and Louisiana Communities. Mr. Hornsby’s efforts are paying off for me, because I had no idea as how to even get to the Power Point Presentations. Mr. Hornsby takes his time in helping veterans like myself because he knows my age and the brain power is not half as sharp as it was 45 years ago. It is hoped that enough class curriculum is completed to give veterans enough computer savvy in order that we may be able to better understand our United States (Sense).

  3. ENDING OF THIS CLASS PERIOD BY DECEMBER 2006 • By the time 2007 appears on the world stage, we should have enough Computer information to put us in good shape. It is hoped that during 2007 more Computer offerings can be a part of the Veteran’s offerings and not apart from the curriculum. • Ending this class in December will be a sad day for me. I feel I am getting the Federal Government’s money’s worth. It’s all because our instructor is giving us a very good fair in the opportunity to learn some solid info about operating the Desk Top Computer. • Never, even in my wildest dream that I would get as much as I have gotten in this Computer Class. • THANK YOU, MR. HORNSBY.

END OF THE LINE FOR THIS CLASS • THIS IS WHERE WE CALL IT QUITS FOR THIS 2006 FALL SEASON. • IT HAS BEEN VERY, VERY INTERESTING TO SAY THE LEAST. • I FEEL THAT I HAVE ACCOMPLISHED SO COMPUTER UNDERSTANDING THAT I HAVE BEEN LACKING FOR MANY A MOONS. • BYE! HOPE TO SEE YOU IN THE SPRING, IF THERE IS MORE TO LEARN.

  5. HOW TO REMEMBER POWER POINT PROGRESSIONS • The typist must remember to click on the little squares at the bottom of the computer on the extreme left side. Then right-hand click to have drop down box with NEW SLIDE appears. Click on new slide & then begin to insert the message you desire for the completion of your Power Point Slide Presentation. • Drag mouse to highlight offering & right hand mouse click & click copy. After this is done, the presenter may continue to create slides for a real good slide presentation in the Power Point mode. • THANKS once again to Mr. Hornsby for his skills & know how in teaching this World War Two & Korean Veteran.

Power Point Slide Presentation That Impress The Participants at Your Workshop – • Each Saturday morning that I come to the Veterans Upward Bound Class I learn just a little bit more to add to what I’ve already learned. It’s a pleasure to get out of bed to come to this class. • The more one learns the more that person knows & can use learned information/education that never gets old. • This program at DCC is wonder for the mind as well as for one’s intellect. • How can I free one’s doubtful mind & melt their cold, cold hearts to get more knowledge & get understanding for now & the future.
