  1. Who is Golden Delight? Welcome to the World of the Sweethearts of the MEAC

Who is Golden Delight? • Golden Delight is the auxiliary of the nationally known Blue & Gold Marching Machine of NC A&T State University • comprised of women who twirl AND dance. • This concept was strictly seen in the Corps Style band world and brought to HBCU marching bands from the visionary Dr. Kenneth Ruff over a decade ago.

  3. Who is Golden Delight? • The squad size ranges from 14-24 ladies. Selection is based on quality and ability to execute minimum requirements, not squad size. • Squad is chosen by staff with the assistance of selected unbiased professional adjudicators.

  5. Dance Choreography • We execute high energy dance routines that combine technique from modern and jazz genres with a touch of funk. Shows are filled with showmanship and creative choreography!

  6. Highly Skilled Majorettes • Our majorettes are one of a kind. We are a squad of majorettes that perform feature twirler level routines in sync. Two baton work, fire batons, streamers and a host of other props are used for this 4-6 woman component of our squad.

  7. Dynamic Flags &Equipment • Grace, poise and precision meet to present our dynamic flag routines. Golden Delight has the most extensive collection of flags and equipment in black college marching bands. Our flags range in colors, sizes and overall visual effect!

  8. Sisterly Relationships • Our squad enjoys sisterly relationships and a enjoyable experience as a part of the A&T band. Squad members participate in band related activities as well as get togethers and "eat out" nights with band members.

  9. Travel!!! Travel!! Travel!! • What would the experience be like if we never left Aggie Stadium? WE DONT KNOW! Our ladies enjoy extensive travel opportunties. Recent trips include Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Daytona Beach, Washington, DC, and more. Trips included the Honda Battle of the Bands performing for tens of thousands of people in Atlanta, GA

  10. More uniforms than anyone! • One uniform? Two uniforms? Four Uniforms? No...try over 15 different uniforms! Our squad believes that attire can bring a routine to life and enhances the visual presentation. Outfits range from leotards to catsuits, sequins to two pieces and even Santa Clause suits for Christmas. Squad members do not purchase uniforms!

  11. Themes & Creativity • We never settle for your average ordinary field show. Golden Delight participates in dynamic presentations that are creative and skillful. 2009 has featured a Barbie Themed feature, (at Band Brawl) Futuristic theme and Latin Theme

  12. Social Opportunities • Our staff places an emphasis on performance and academics; however, squad members are still able to enjoy social settings as college students. Delights are recognized in a positive manner, both on and off campus.

  13. Focus on each squad member • Our staff provides squad development workshops and activities ranging from Make up, hair care, etiquette, squad relations, leadership, image and poise, and more! We believe in developing the total woman....a sweetheart! Our squad also works closely with youth in the area.
