Colleges And Universities Programs That Work Miami-Dade County Public Schools, Adult & Career Technical Education programs are designed to prepare you to enter the career of your choice through our Career Technical Education training. Additionally, our courses can help you prepare to take the citizenship exam, learn English as a second language and/or help you prepare for the GED (General Educational Development) or High School Diploma. Whether you decide to learn technical skills or get a college education, our Adult Basic Education Program will provide you with the foundation needed to begin your new career. Furthermore, our programs offer GED Test preparation and high school completion courses. Programs are specifically designed to help adults boost their levels of understanding with reading, writing, arithmetic and the basic knowledge required to enter post-secondary education training. Our post-secondary training is designed to support the local workforce. The Adult & Career Technical Education programs will provide you pathways in the areas of Industrial/Technical, Health/Medical, Business/Computers, Family and Consumer Sciences, and Public Service.

About our Career Training Programs The Adult Education program at Miami-Dade County Public Schools is properly designed to prepare you as you enter the local workforce to pick up a career of your choice. You can obtain the skills you need to have a successful career in your preferred field. Upon completing a program at the technical college level, your certificate and/or license will be recognized by the National Council on Occupational Education. Our preparation programs are available at multiple locations in Miami-Dade County, including seven (7) technical colleges. Studies cut across several levels and allow you to choose the specialized area you would like to focus on. We offer courses in Construction & Apprenticeship; Commercial Arts & 3D Animation; Business Administration; Licensed Childcare; Health Occupations; Culinary Arts; and Cosmetology. Courses are also available in Early Childhood Education; Information Technology; Manufacturing; Transportation; Public Safety & Security. Our set of programs also include: Major Appliance Repair; Commercial Vehicle Driving (CDL); Automation and Production Technology; Heavy Equipment Operation and Marine Mechanics. We can help you prepare to take the citizenship exam, learn English as a second language or help you attain fluency which will be needed to get into the workforce. In addition, we develop programs that will get you adequately equipped for the GED or a High School Diploma. Several of our centers offer the GED and high school completion testing, in addition to various industry exams, including CDA, CISCO, CCNA, COMPTia, ISCET.
