  • A final set of drawings providing all the details and information needed to manufacture and assemble a finished design.
  • Components
    • Detail Drawings
    • Assembly Drawings
    • Bill of Materials

  • A drawing of each individual part that clearly reveals all details
  • One part per sheet
  • Purchased parts not drawn
  • Components
    • Every feature clearly dimensioned
    • Tolerance specified for every dimension
    • Material specifications
    • Finishing and surface treatment specs.
    • Drawing Information (Part name, number, date, drawn by, revision number, etc.)

  • May use one or several views (multiview, pictorial, section, exploded, detail view, etc.) to clearly show how parts are assembled and interact.
  • Dimensions and tolerances between parts are given (specified gaps, orientation, torque, etc.)
  • Hidden lines are often omitted
  • Individual parts are identified with balloon tags
