  1. Wine Preservation in Singapore's Climate Living conditions in Singapore are among the worst in the world. Being outside on a day that is both hot and humid, or even being indoors without air conditioning, is not a pleasant experience. Your wines will end up suffering, going bad, and eventually turning into vinegar if you do not have enough room in your home for an appropriate wine fridge. Who would desire wine if they could have vinegar? Your bottle of wine has no interest in taking a vacation in the sun. There's a logic to why wines are stored in bottles made of colored glass. The sun's ultraviolet radiation can cause your wine to deteriorate prematurely and cause it to age more quickly than it should. Therefore, let's put those shades on to shield our priceless bottles from the sun! Heat should be your primary concern. To tell you the truth, the optimal storage temperature range for wine is between 7 and 18 degrees Celsius. However, given that we are currently located in Singapore, you should not expect this to occur if you intend to store your wines in an ordinary room, cupboard, basement, or other such location. Your wine will age more quickly as a result of the oxidation brought on by the heat. You definitely don't want the wine you bought to be warm. It's possible that humidity is on your side. If there is not enough humidity in the air, the cork will dry out and become brittle. As a result, it will shrink and fall into the bottle. However, considering that it gives you an excuse to imbibe, it's not always the worst thing that could happen. On the other hand, if it was a bottle that you intended to retain for a while and let mature, then that is most certainly not a good thing. On the other hand, you do not want there to be an excessive amount of humidity because this will encourage mold growth and will also destroy your wine labels. There are moments when being straight is not cool. If your wine bottle is sealed with a cork, you should always store it on its side to prevent the cork from drying out. In order to stop the cork from drying out and shrinking, you need to make sure that it stays in contact with the wine at all times. You also don't want that excess space because it makes it easier for oxygen to sneak through. It's possible that your wine bottle will stay upright and straight if it has a screw cap or a synthetic cork rather than a traditional cork.

  2. What should one do? If you do not intend to store your wines away for a few years, then it is quite acceptable to keep them in the wine refrigerator that you use on a regular basis, at least for a couple of months. Because you need to keep in mind that the temperature of standard refrigerators is maintained at or below 7 degrees to ensure that your food remains fresh. However, you should also make it a point to keep your wine in a location that is not near any items that have a strong odor because these things might try to get into your bottle. Who's up for some durian wine? Invest! Invest! Invest! We strongly recommend that you purchase a dedicated wine refrigerator if you take your collection of wines seriously and wish to store them for at least a couple of years. There are some that are rather small and can only hold a maximum of 24 bottles, while others can hold as many as 155! Wow, that's a substantial amount of wine. Eurocave, Vintec, and Kadeka are the three brands that come highly recommended by our team. If you have any issues with your refrigerator, you can contact one of these three reputable brands, each of which has a service center right here in Singapore. At the same time, not only do they function effectively, but they also have an impressive appearance.
