A noun is a of a : ❖PERSON ❖PLACE ❖ANIMAL ❖THING ❖QUALITY or IDEA
•The NOUN is a word that names something. •They are names for persons, animals, places, objects, substances, qualities, actions, measures of time or quantity which can be pointed out, recognized and called a name. • It is the word that tells, what you are talking about.

• Is it a person? • Is it a place ? • Is it an animal? • Is it a thing? • Is it a quality? • Is it an idea? If the answer is yes for anyone of these question, then the word is a NOUN.

COMMON AND PROPER NOUNS
• A is the general name given to all persons, places, animals, or things that belong to the same group or class. • It is the ordinary name you call someone or something (a person, place, animal, or thing) that belong in the same group. • I guess that is why they call it COMMON NOUNS. ☺
COMMON NOUNS: - The general or ordinary name you would call something or someone. 1. Tom and I are going to town this afternoon. We plan to buy clothing, groceries and some shoes. 2. The clumsy boy spilled juice on his books. We DO NOT capitalize Common Nouns, unless they are used to begin sentences. 3. Rayanne’s birthday will be celebrated on the fifth of August. 4. The student wrote his examination on Monday.
