  1. DGP: Daily Grammar Practice • Starting next week we will begin DGP • When you come in, it will be on the board instead of the warm-ups we have been doing • You will use the same sentence all week, and on Friday there will be a quiz

  2. It will look something like this: bobby loves language arts Monday: Correct the capitalization and punctuation in this sentence. *On your paper, you will write the sentence correctly.

  3. Bobby loves language arts. Tuesday: Identify the part of speech for each word in this sentence. * You will use your DGP notes to do this

  4. Bobby loves language arts. Wednesday: Identify the subject, predicate, Direct Object, Indirect Object, Predicate Noun, Predicate Adjectives, Appositives, Prepositional Phrases, and Objects of the Preposition. *We will do these together the first couple of weeks. You can use your DGP notes for this.

  5. Bobby loves language arts. Thursday: Identify the clauses, sentence type, and sentence purpose. *This is in your notes and we will do it together the first couple of weeks.

  6. Scavenger Hunt: use your DGP notes to answer these questions • What is one thing I should put in quotation marks? • What is a conjunction? • Under adjectives, what is an article? • List the demonstrative pronouns. • List 5 linking verbs. • What four questions do adverbs answer? • On which day’s notes would I find comma rules? • What is an appositive? 9. Give one example of a prepositional phrase. 10. What is a clause? 11. Name three types of sentences. 12. List 7 conjunctions. 13. On which day would I find information on the apostrophe? 14. What is the purpose of an interrogative sentence? 15. What is an independent clause?
