  5. GRADING • Test and quizzes 85% • Total points received out of total points earned • Homework 15% (% completed)

  6. TESTS AND QUIZZES • One test or quiz per week • No homework on the night of the test • Test and quizzes are usually returned the next day or two after the test

  7. HOMEWORK • Assignments on board and classroom page (including upcoming quizzes and tests) • Assigned majority of evenings • Checked off at the beginning of class • No late work accepted

CURRICULUM • ** NEW NYS Math 8 Common Core • Topics include: equations, graphs of linear and non-linear functions, equations from best fit lines, exponents, scientific notation with operations, angle pairs, angles of a triangle, transformations, Pythagorean theorem, rational vs. irrational # • Some units will be enhanced by using the TI-Nspirecalculator during class • Math 8 assessment in April/May • Final in June

  15. HOMEWORK • Assignments on screen • Assigned the majority of evenings • Checked off at beginning of class as they work on warm-up • No late homework accepted
