  3. Important Facts: • UNHCR= United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees • The UNHCR helps refugees to either go home, stay in the country they escaped to, or go to a new home in a new country • NZ quota for refugees= 750

  4. Process for Immigration in NZ • Background Check • NZ Immigration Service given info. • Immigration officials visit refugees and interview • 750 allowed into NZ
