  3. Appearance • A spectacled bear has shaggy fur it is black and brown and sometimes reddish. Spectacle bear has yellowish rings around his eyes.

  4. Habitat • Spectacled bears live in South America. They been found in rain forests, steppe lands, mountainous regions and coastal deserts.

  5. Food • They eat fruit, berries, cacti, honey, small rodents, birds, insects, small cows.

  6. Young • They give birth to one or two babies. The cubs stay with their mother for eight months. Baby spectacled bears ride on their mother’s back.

  7. Interesting Facts • Spectacled bears weigh up to 340 pounds. Their chest markings are unique like human fingerprints. Females weigh more then 180 pounds. Spectacled bears climb as high as 14,000 feet.
