Issues • Huge gap in enrolment of children in primary and upper primary stages • No improvement in construction of kitchen cum store since 2011-12. • 100% of Monthly data entry into MDM MIS web portal is not completed. • Delay in release of funds from State to District level • Poor implementation of School Health Programme Ministry of HRD, Govt. of India

  31. Findings of MI • Name of the MI- Nagaland University, Kohima • Districts Covered- Wokha, Phek and Dimapur District • Areas of concern • 57.5 % of the visited schools of Wokha District and 37.5% visited schools of Dimapur District do not serve hot cooked meal daily. • Main reason for interruption reported as shortages of stock, insufficient food supply and delayed of MDM items from the head office. • For all the schools, the food grains were not delivered at the schools, where the schools had to collect from the head quarter.   32. Findings of MI • 60% visited schools of Wokha and 35% of DimapurDistrict stated that cooking cost to school level was not delivered regularly. • 95% schools stated that children were not given micro nutrients. Out of all the visited schools it was found that no school has maintained health care cards. • In 82.5% of the visited schools of Dimapur District were not very satisfied with the environment safety and hygiene, Ministry of HRD, Govt. of India

  33. Findings of 4th Joint Review Mission • Irregularity in serving of MDM in some of the visited schools. • No Mid Day Meal is served on Saturday. • Poor Maintenance of Records. • Annual Payment of Honorarium to Cook cum Helpers. • Poor Implementation of School Health Programme. • Poor Monitoring Mechanism. No MDM Inspections by the District / Block Officials. • Delay in reaching Funds from the State Govt to Directorate. • Very slow pace of MDM MIS Portal Monthly Data Entry work. Proposal for Procurement of Kitchen Devices # Includes 17 NCLP schools #The number of variation with 2751 is inclusive of the defunct of 528 AIE/EGS centers . **GoI has already sanctioned 1000 units of kitchen devices for replacement (against the sanction of 2006-07) on 01.01.2013, 08.02,2013 and 28.02.2013. 796 units of kitchen devices were sanctioned during 2007-08. Therefore 796 units of kitchen devices have been recommended for replacement. Ministry of HRD, Govt. of India
