Best Practices • The State Government is providing nutri candy to children. • The State Govt. is adding de-fated Soya Atta in wheat flour. • State has initiated the concept of public participation through “Tithi Bhojan“.   27. ISSUES • No SSMC Meeting Held during 2010-11 and 2011-12. • Enrollment in Primary reduced in keda-Nadiyad, Navsari, Bahruch and Surendernagar in 2010-11 to 2011-12. • Late submission of QPRs. • Less utilization of food grain in • Anand 38%, and Narmada 31%. Ministry of HRD, Govt. of India

  28. M. S. University of Baroda 1st April to 30th September 2011Dahod, Junagadh, panchmahals & Rajkot 1. Panchmahal : No meeting SMC was held for supervision of MDM 2. Dahod: In no school visited by the MI roaster was maintained for monitoring and supervision of MDM by the parents. 3. Rajkot : i. In School no. 5 and 28 it was reported that MDM was not served since long period. ii. Quality of MDM was poor in 2 schools (School no. 5, 28, here MDM was not prepared on both days of visit.

Sardar Patel Institute of Economic & Social Research on Mid day Meal for the State of Gujarat (1st April, 2011 to 31st , September 2011) Bhavnagar, Ahmedabad Bhavnagar : • Delay of about 2-3 months in receiving the cooking cost was found by the MIin Dhola Junction KV School, NityanandPS- Branch and Malpara PS • Dal & vegetable is not served to children on daily basis. • In ValukadKendravartiKumar School insufficient cooking utensils in kitchen was seen. • In ShriGundalKendravartiKanya School there is no kitchen facility and storeroom facility in school since last 10 years. • In Dhola Junction Kendravarti School the MDM serving utensils are not available • No school is maintaining health cards for children .
