Findings of Monitoring Institute Districts Covered: Nainital, Tehri & Udham Singh Nagar • In 25% of the schools in Nainital, foodgrainsare lifted by schools from PDS shop or from the road head as most of the schools are not situated at the road head. • Schools are serving rice and pulses every day without any variety in menu. Dal served is very watery in schools in Nainital and Udham Singh Nagar. • Vitamin A dosage were distributed in only 43% schools and Micronutrients were given in 22% schools in Naintaldistirct. • In 30% of the schools, there is an delay in receiving the cooking cost, teachers either manage it on credit basis or from their own pocket. • Community participation found to be poor.
