5/10 Bell Ringer

5/10 Bell Ringer. Find the area and perimeter of the following figure: A = 24(12) + 30(18) = 828 sq. ft P = 30 + 18 + 54 + 12 + 24 + 6 or P = 2(54) + 2(18) = 144 ft. Homework: Area and perimeter worksheet. Get out textbook homework from page 425 and 430. 5/10 News and Notes.

  1. 5/10 Bell Ringer Find the area and perimeter of the following figure: A = 24(12) + 30(18) = 828 sq. ft P = 30 + 18 + 54 + 12 + 24 + 6 or P = 2(54) + 2(18) = 144 ft. Homework: Area and perimeter worksheet Get out textbook homework from page 425 and 430.

  2. 5/10 News and Notes MVPs: Oscar, Liqa, Raul, Brianna G, Kassandra • Hand back tests • How will this week work? M-Th lessons, Friday review and bulldog at the end.

  3. 5/10 Agenda • I CAN use knowledge of area to find perimeter and vice versa. • Bell Ringer • Example Problem – New Material • Stations

  4. New Material – Example • Find width and perimeter given that length = 20m and A = 120 m2. Picture Know Solving A = 120 m2 L = 20 m P = 2L + 2W A = LW A = LW 120 = 20W 120/20 = 20W/20 6 m = W P = 2L + 2W P = 2(20) + 2(6) P = 52 m A = 120 m2 W 20 m

  5. Stations • 1. Finding area given perimeter and 1 side • 2. Find missing sides given area or perimeter • 3. Find perimeter given area • 4. Use Pythagorean Theorem to find perimeter and area.

  6. How it works • Four stations with four problems each. • 6 minutes at each station. • You walk/work with a partner. • At each station: YOU do 2 problems, YOUR PARTNER does the other 2. • If you misbehave or disrupt class, Mr. C will mark your paper which signifies lost points. • At the end you and your partner will turn in your work stapled together.
