  1. NOGLSTP @ Purdue National Organization of Gay and Lesbian Scientists and Technical Professionals at Purdue

What You Should Know: • You don’t have to be gay or lesbian or a scientist or technical professional (or even national or organized) to be a part of NOGLSTP • All you need is to want to make the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) departments safer and more accepting • We are the first successful student caucus of the national organization

  3. What we do: • Transgender Day of Remembrance • Intersex Awareness Day • Career Forums • Most importantly, we act as committees to accomplish goals around the university. • Minutes and Records • Membership and Welcoming • Public Relations/Publicity • Harassment Response • Mentor Search • Website • Education and Outreach

  4. Membership and Welcoming Committee • In charge of making new members feel welcome and foster community within existing membership. Public Relations/ Publicity Committee • In charge of promoting and representing the organization to campus, the community at large, and the press.

  5. Harassment Response Committee Advocates on behalf of any individual that reports and experiences harassment, intimidation, or discrimination that occurs. Mentor Search Committee Works to find and maintain a list or queer-friendly mentors and empower individuals to be out in graduate school.

  6. Minutes And Records Committee Takes minutes and archives all records of NOGLSTP proceedings Education And Outreach Committee Works to educate the community about the benefits of diversity and inclusiveness and promote the truth about sex, gender and sexual orientation.

  7. Website Committee Responsible for the design, development, and content of the NOGLSTP @ Purdue website. http://www.noglstp.net/purdue/

  8. What we plan on doing: • Transgender Day of Remembrance • Intersex Awareness Day • Career Forums • Service to community • Tutoring • Boiler Blast • Diversity Organizations Research • Fundraising • Anything YOU want to do
