AUTOMOBILES Kawasaki Introduces Retro Styled Meguro K3 Motorcycle BY TEJAS-GORE DEC 23, 2020 12:47 Kawasaki introduces the retro-style motorcycle Meguro K3 in Japan. The new model also follows the brand's W800 based styling. The Kawasaki Meguro K3 was launched in an effort to revive one of the oldest motorcycle brands in the country. Meguro was founded in 1937 in Japan. A few years later, they
partnered with Kawasaki Heavy Industries. Meguro sold a decent number of motorcycles during its heyday. However, at the end of World War II, the company faced many challenges and closed down and stopped production of the bike. But Kawasaki's retro motorcycles went ahead, borrowing Meguro's styling. The 650cc, parallel-twin model Meguro T1 Sr. is said to have been the inspiration behind the Kawasaki W-Series motorcycles. The main attractions of the Meguro K3 are the beautifully designed Meguro badge and the subtle visual tweaks. Actually, this is a Kawasaki W800. To make it even better, the bike's tank has white rear stripes. The retro-look is underlined by a circular shape for the headlights and turn indicators, a teardrop design for the fuel tank, wire-spoke wheels, and chrome loads everywhere. The motorcycle is powered by the same 773cc, parallel-twin engine available in the Kawasaki W800 model. Power and torque output figures are similar to the W800. This means that the Meguro K3's air-cooled unit is capable of producing 62.9 Nm of torque at 50.2 bhp. The suspension setup of the motorcycle includes telescopic forks and twin-sided springs at the rear. Disc brakes are included on both wheels for braking. Kawasaki now plans to sell Meguro only in Japan. It is unknown at this time what he will do after leaving the post. If so, the Meguro K3 may also make its way to India, where cruiser retro models prefer.
