  2. PowerPoint: Sound and Video • Objectives: • The student will: • Know how to add sound and video clips to a PowerPoint Presentation • Know how set the options to get the clip to play Wake up and lets get started!

  3. PowerPoint: Sounds • Sounds can add zest to your presentation • Too many sounds can be a distraction • Some sounds can be downright annoying

  4. PowerPoint: Adding Sounds • PowerPoint has a number of sounds built in. • You can access those sounds in the Insert Tab. Sounds are found in the Media Clips group. Click on Sound and pick Sounds from Clip Organizer…

  5. PowerPoint: Adding Sounds • You can also add your own sound clips • You can access those sounds in the Insert Tab. This is also found in the Media Clips group. Click on Sound and pick Sounds from File…

  6. PowerPoint: Sound Options • There are options on when the sound plays. When you insert the file PowerPoint will bring up a dialog box: • Automatically will play the sound when the slide come up. Like Tigger… • When Clicked requires you click on the icon during the presentation – Like this one:

  7. PowerPoint: Sound Options • You can change options for the sound by selecting the sound and then going to the Sound Options ribbon • You can • Change the volume • Have the sound loop • Hide the icon during the slide show

  8. PowerPoint: Sound Custom Animations • You can control when the sound is played by setting the sequence through custom animations. • Control the order • Play Automatically with any other object or alone • Play after a delay • Etc.

  10. PowerPoint: Videos • You can add videos the same way as you add sounds.

  11. PowerPoint: Video Options • Videos are added and changed in the same method as sounds. • Videos can play in the slide (like the first video) or they can fill the screen. • There are some built in video clips • Most are animated gif files

  12. Summary • Sounds and Videos can make your presentation more interesting • Be careful you don’t overdo it • Sounds and videos can be controlled through the custom animation settings

Rest of Today • Create a PowerPoint slide that has sound or video (use either the built in files or find files on the internet) – Note: Most the PCs do not have sound so working with videos is better • Have a sound/video play automatically when the slide appears • Have a sound/video play on a mouse click • Have a sound/video play with a custom animation • Mavis Beacon
