Create a PowerPoint Presentation • The steps you follow to create a presentation will vary depending on the method you choose, but will probably follow these basic steps: • Open PowerPoint. • Choose the desired installed template or theme or open an existing presentation or start with a blank presentation. • Type the text for each slide, adding additional elements as needed such as graphic images. • If necessary, apply a design theme. • Save the presentation. • Print the presentation as slides, handouts, notes pages, or an outline. • Run the presentation. • Close the presentation. • Exit PowerPoint.

  7. Open a Presentation To open a presentation: • Click the File tab. • Click the Open button. • Navigate to the desired folder or drive. • Double-click the presentation. Open button

  10. Plan a Presentation • With PowerPoint, you can create slides for an on-screen presentation. You can also print handouts of the presentation, print an outline, or print the entire presentation. • When planning a presentation, first define the purpose of the presentation.

  19. Change Views • Normal view: This is the default view and displays three panes— Slides/Outline, Slide, and Notes. With these three panes, you can work with all features in one place and write and design your presentation. • Slide Sorter view: Choosing the Slide Sorter view displays all slides in the presentation in slide thumbnails. In this view, you can easily add, move, rearrange, and delete slides. • Notes Page view: Change to the Notes Page view and an individual slide displays on a page with any added notes displayed below the slide. • Reading view: Use the Reading view when you deliver your presentation to someone viewing the presentation on his or her own computer. Or, use this view to view the presentation in a window with controls that make the presentation easy to view. • Slide Show view: Use the Slide Show view to run a presentation. When you choose this view, the slide fills the entire screen.
