  1. How to Progress Through a Moodle Topic

  2. At any time in MOODLE you can use the breadcrumbs to navigate around the website. The topics are shown as a grid and selected by clicking the title.

  3. For each topic you are provided with a lesson a Quiz, greyed out with conditional information of how it can be accessed and information on any practical projects relevant to the topic.

  4. Starting a Topic Lesson Click here to begin a lesson.

  5. The first page will provide you with an outline of the Essential Knowledge and Skills covered in the topic. To proceed click on the ‘Next – Instructions’ button

  6. The ‘Instructions’ page will provide you with the page numbers from the recommended text you are required to study as well as an outline of how to proceed through the topic.

  7. Progress through each lesson using the buttons at the bottom… … or the ‘Lesson Menu’ on the left hand side.

  8. DVD content is extensively used to reinforce lesson structure. Click inside the screen to start a DVD.

  9. After reaching the end of a lesson, you will be notified. If required you can review the lesson or return to the topics grid page. You can access the other objects in the topic directly from the ‘Navigation’ menu.

  11. … you will go to the Quiz Front Page A maximum of 4 attempts are available for each quiz. Your grade will be the highest achieved from any of the 4 attempts. To start, click the ‘Attempt quiz now’ button.

  12. QUIZ FORMAT Each quiz has a number of different question types … Multiple Choice Select One Answer Short Answer True/False Upon completion, click the ‘Submit all and finish’ button to forward your answers for marking.

  13. You can review your answers. When you have finished click ‘Finish review’.

  14. To go to another topic or object, you can use the left hand menu or the breadcrumbs along the top of the page. After finishing the review you may re-attempt the quiz by clicking here.

  15. Starting a Practical Project If you click here…

  16. …you will access the Practical Project. Objectives of each practical project are provided, along with the procedure to be followed. Note: All Practical Projects will be conducted at your designated campus under supervision.

  17. The Assessment Overview Topic provides information on the Simulated Work Performance (SWP) Tasks that will be completed at the College.
