Lessons learnt and challenges for cleaner production and eco efficency: • Rising prices for oil, food and commodities favour the engagement in ressource- and eco efficiency • Cleaner production arises not automatically - Support from the state or the city is essential for its success • A multi-level approach and flexibility (mix of instruments) is needed • Economic incentives facilitate the striving for results • Relevant concepts are: public private partnerships, prevention, polluter pays principle, producer responsibility • Environmental and economic policies should be well-connected • Material and energy flows should be sustainable in the economic cycle • Start to walk the road to a low-carbon economy Partner and Facilitator for Eco-Industrial Park Development
