  2. Function: Sales • Function: Sales • Disaster: Virus Infection • Scenario: Database Server Destroyed • Scenario Overview: A virus has infected our database server causing it to crash and lose data. Customers cannot process their sales through the client program

Function: Sales • Recovery Time Objective: 60 minutes after the disaster is declared • Recovery Steps: • Cut the main network and determine which systems are infected and which are not • Roll out backup server(s) and reload software/data using back up information replacing infected systems • Insure virus definition databases on all machines are up to date • Restore main network and reconnect all systems. Test functionality

  4. Function: Internet Routing • Function: Internet Routing • Disaster: Generator explosion • Scenario: Major router • Scenario Overview: Due to the generator explosion the major router is destroyed. All communications are cut off between the Head office and remote servers

  5. Function: Internet Routing • Recovery Time Objective: from 8 to 24 hours • Recovery Steps: • Inspect the building • Call the BCP team to review the plan and take proper actions • Configure a temporary router from a spare server • Contact suppliers and order a new router • Configure/test new router (once delivered) and put it back online • Estimate damages and repair building if neccessary
