HydroQual Project Status • SJR DWSC Hydrodynamics: • Numerical simulation of dye release at Rough & Ready Island (near R5) • Lateral mixing and tidal transport • Comparison to diurnal & stratification temperature data • 2000 & 2001 data at R5 and the Turning Basin • 2002 diurnal temperature stratification data at Rough & Ready Island near R5. • Upstream SJR modeling (DSM2-sjr) • Developed water quality boundary conditions for chlorophyll, nitrogen, phosphorus, DO, BOD for major inflows • Begun running water quality simulations using preliminary flow, EC and temperature simulations (Jones & Stokes)

  5. DWSC Dye Release Run • Release occurs for 1 hr on 8/9/2000 at low-high slack water • Net DWSC tidal flow is ~1000 cfs • Dye released at the bottom of the water column near station R5 • Dye release: 50 cfs at 100 mg/L
