  4. Diligence - Noun • Steadiness of effort; persistent hard work • Learning a foreign language requires diligence on the part of a student.

  5. Falter - Verb • Hesitate • The speaker faltered when he came to the part of his speech in which he told his memories of his beloved wife who had died recently.
