  3. Mission • Female Engagement Teams (FETs) directly engage the local population in support of the local commander’s intent. • FETs conduct engagement operations • Influence entire population • Disseminate commander’s messages

  4. Key Lessons Learned • FETs engage with men, women and children • Employment driven by the commander • Effective at all stages of counterinsurgency • Full-time FET • FETs can soften the public’s perception of offensive operations • Mere introduction of FET into a battle space changed dynamics between CF and local populace

  5. Accomplishments • 16 FETs Conducted 3,136 Engagements, During 576 Patrols • Collected and Reported Critical Atmospherics and Information • Supported Clearing Operations • Consequence Management • Identified and Facilitated Development Projects
