    2. 2 Marines Corps Goals for the Autonomic Logistics Concept Enable current and future warfighting concepts (Campaign) Increase combat effectiveness (Campaign) Reduce logistics footprint (Operations) Enhance Command and Control (Operations) Increase logistics responsiveness (Operations) Improve Asset Visibility (Operations) Reduce logistics delay time (Assets) Increase logistics effectiveness (Assets) Improve life-cycle management (Assets) Provide critical logistic data (Component) Comparing AL goals with the measures pyramid, this charts shows the following: Enabling current and future warfighting concepts and increasing combat effectiveness relate to the Campaign level. Reducing logistics footprint, enhancing Command and Control, and increasing logistics responsiveness relate to the Operations level. Reducing logistics delay time, and increasing logistics effectiveness Assets level. Providing critical logistic data relates to the Component level. This analysis focused on the supported asset and considered the additional affect on logistics responsiveness at the Logistics Operation level. It is obvious that AL will have positive impact in terms of the goals, but AL system data maturity and availability precluded detailed analysis. In order to assess all AL goals, additional data with greater fidelity is required. Comparing AL goals with the measures pyramid, this charts shows the following: Enabling current and future warfighting concepts and increasing combat effectiveness relate to the Campaign level. Reducing logistics footprint, enhancing Command and Control, and increasing logistics responsiveness relate to the Operations level. Reducing logistics delay time, and increasing logistics effectiveness Assets level. Providing critical logistic data relates to the Component level.     7. 7 Sense and Respond Logistics (S&RL) S&RL initiative goal is adaptive, responsive demand and support for force capability sustainment A critical enabler to deliver improved materiel readiness to the warfighter and enhance asset visibility, connectivity, and interoperability. Enables operations-driven control of theater logistics, strategic connectivity, and integration of logistics and operations to eliminate stovepipe sub-optimization Joint Theater Logistics: Maritime Support – CNA Report, Nov 2006 COCOM’s tactical logistics requirements start with an ability to implement a “sense and respond” type of logistics support Success depends on the speed of pattern recognition and speed of response TALC enables the “sense” part of S&RL Capstone Concept for Joint operations says: Project and Sustain the Force: - Continuous connectivity between deploying joint forces and elements already in the theater is essential to creating increased agility for the joint force and greater options for the JFC. Distributed support and sustainment will provide the means for maintaining freedom of action for committed forces throughout a campaign, throughout the battlespace, and with the smallest feasible deployed logistical footprint. Capstone Concept for Joint operations says: Project and Sustain the Force: - Continuous connectivity between deploying joint forces and elements already in the theater is essential to creating increased agility for the joint force and greater options for the JFC.
