  1. CoA Website CommitteeMay 6, 2011 Agenda Review and Approve the Agenda and Minutes Chair’s Report – Jane McKenna Update on Developer Search Further Revised Feedback from Student Services Council on Drop Down Menu Hierarchy – Sheila Lau Further Feedback from Department Chairs on Menu Hierarchy – Jane McKenna Overall review of Drop Down Menu Hierarchy Identify Next Steps

  2. President’s Report • The Measure A forms need to be resubmitted. We need the name of the selected developer for inclusion on the forms. This could significantly delay the process. • COA Tech Institute – there will not be a COA campus Drupal training because, based on the changes needed to the Measure A paperwork, it is unlikely we will have a website ready for training by the Institute dates.

  3. Hiring a Drupal Designer/Developer • The Hiring Sub-committee has narrowed the search and is in the process of receiving bids. • They are optimistic that a decision can be made by next week. • Then, the paperwork can be resubmitted.

  4. Department Chair Feedback on Drop Down Menu Items • The English Dept. chair has notified me that English would prefer to be listed under Arts and Humanities rather than World Languages. • The Foreign Language Dept. Chair confirmed that World Languages is the correct label for her area.

  5. Recent Appointments to Committee The Faculty Senate President has appointed the following members to the Committee: • Faculty – Library - Jane McKenna (appointed Sp 2011),elected Chair in Sp 2011 • Faculty –Student Services - Sheila Lau (appointed Sp 2011) • Faculty – Division 1 - Rochelle Olive (appointed Sp 2011) • Faculty – Division 2 -  Kelly Pernell (appointed Sp 2011) • Faculty – At Large - Mark Swiencicki (appointed Sp 2011) • Faculty - At Large - Robert Brem (appointed Sp 2011) Complete list of membership listed on committee website at http://alameda.peralta.edu/apps/comm.asp?$1=20794

  6. Counselors and Student Services Feedback on Drop Downs • Due to design concerns regarding much duplication in recommended drop downs (leading to crowding of menus and poor info. architecture) and too lengthy of drop down lists (bottom items drop off smaller screens), the student services rep was asked to consult with her areas to see if additional options could be generated from counselors, and student services to resolve these concerns. • Sheila and Mark will now present the revised drop down options to the committee.

  7. Next Steps • Hire developer and complete necessary paperwork. • Further refine drop down menus • Pull together a more detailed wish list for specific content types. Solicit volunteers to work on this with the Chair. • Identify timeline • Pull together file of images to use (review what is avail. in Pres. Office).
