AN OPPORTUNITY TO STRENGTHEN THE LIC COMMUNITY With the changing face of the neighborhood, it is ever more important to develop and maintain a vibrant and authentic cultural, commercial and culinary scene that caters to the diversity of the LIC community. WHO IS “LOCAL PROJECT” Founded in LIC, 2003 by a group of artists from different backgrounds, Local Project is a non-profit organization committed to building an educational forum for emerging artists and the environment, and to create synergy between the exhibition of their work and the public through year-round exhibitions, arts mentoring, and multidisciplinary programming.

WHY IS “LOCAL PROJECT” IMPORTANT TO THE LIC COMMUNITY LP supportsand inspires emerging artists of the Queens area by giving them a space to express themselves and guidance to develop LP partners with local schools and organizations to create special arts programs LP provides a wealth of artistic events to the LIC community throughout the year, including exhibitions, music, poetry and video arts performances Picture LP offers affordable creative workshops to the local community

We were lucky to find a new home in the neighborhood, but at an increased rental cost of over 50%! • In order to continue our art community programs and maintain our support to the local artist community, while providing art related events to the neighborhood, we need the help of thriving local businesses like you…
