  2. Description • CONNECT:Direct (A Trademark of Sterling Commerce) is a file transfer application used by BellSouth to communicate with outside companies through connections to BellSouth Data Centers. Issue Date 03/05 2

  3. Accessibility • CONNECT:Direct with BellSouth is accessed through dedicated facilities using TCP/IP protocol Issue Date 03/05 3

  4. Prearrangements • Customers must make arrangements with their BellSouth Electronic Commerce Account Team several months in advance of their expected need to use this process • The amount of turn up time will be negotiated depending on the available test times Issue Date 03/05 4

  5. Connectivity • Customers that elect to use CONNECT:Direct, as the transfer tool for providing and receiving data to and from BellSouth via a dedicated facility will be responsible for ordering and paying for the transmission lines (circuits) to one of the BellSouth Regional Data Centers Issue Date 03/05 5

  6. Connectivity Process • Once the CLEC has a dedicated facility or has ordered such an arrangement, a joint meeting between the CLEC’s Technical Support Group and the BellSouth Technical Support Group will be arranged to discuss passwords, protocols, processes for file handling, and a contact point for trouble reporting.
