Year of establishment: 2010 • Chairs 2013: UN WOMEN. 2012: UNFPA, 2010/2012: UNDP • Participation of: • UNWOMEN, UNDP, UNFPA,UNICEF, UNAIDS, UNODC, FAO, ILO, others, UNDG LAC Secretariat • Objective: • Coordinate joint actions and exchange information, knowledge, and know-how on evaluation matters between regional agencies to provide support to M&E officers in the COs. Inter-Agency Group on Monitoring and Evaluation

  2. Main functions and activities: • Strengthening of capacities and sharing experiences on evaluation: • EVALUN LAC Network: Constituted by M&E Officers of UN agencies in LAC. Virtual space was created to disseminate articles, news and trainings on M&E areas. • Toolkit on Evaluation: Series of how-to documents, examples and resources on design, manage and use an evaluation based on the standards established by UNEG. • Webinars and Face-to-Face workshops: First interagency course on GEHR Focused Evaluation in LAC (2011), webinars on Country Experiences on Monitoring within the UNDAF framework

  3. Main functions and activities: • Promote experiences on national evaluation capacity development: • UN WOMEN Regional Meeting of Experts on National Evaluation Capacity Development (2013), UNDP Global Conference on NECD (Sao Paulo - October 2013) • Technical and methodological support on evaluation process: • UNDAF and Joint Evaluations: Provide an effective technical accompaniment in regards to Joint and UNDAF Evaluation processes (e.g. Mexico)

Workplan 2013-2014: • Strengthening of capacities and sharing experiences on evaluation: • Upcoming Webinars: • UNDAF Monitoring and Evaluation (with UN Staff College) • SMART indicators for development results • Good practices at national level: M&E Groups • Technical support for UNDAF Evaluations in roll out countries: • Provide support on different stages: • Incorporation of RBM and gender equality approaches • Identification of evaluation team • Quality assurance of Term of Reference (e.g. Guatemala) • Quality assurance of evaluation products
