War in Afghanistan • October 7, 2001 • United States, the United Kingdom, Australia, and the Afghan United Front launched Operation Enduring Freedom • Primary driver- invasion was the September 11 attack on the United States • Stated Goal-of dismantling the Al-Qaeda terrorist organization and ending its use of Afghanistan as a base.

  3. Pilots • Pilots are brave men who fly in the war zone to drop soldiers off. • .They fly for 6 hours a day to do missions. • A very important mission was the assassination of Bin Laden. • My friend’s dad is a pilot in the war. • He flies the Apache.

Terrorist • Terrorist are soldiers that cause terror. • Terrorist started the war when leader Osama-Bin Laden planned an attack on the U.S. • The US declared war on the Taliban. • The leader was Osama Bin Laden • The United States Naval Special Warfare Development Group search for him and killed him on May 2,2011in his compound in Pakistan.

  5. Terrorist Attacks • October 1 ,1910. Los Angeles Time Bombing • By a member of the Association of Bridge and Structural Iron, Workers Union killed 21 people and injured 100 additional .
