  3. SOME Rule 1.Use some in positive sentences Rule 2. Placed before countable or uncountable items. Examples: I need some help in my homework. (some before uncountable word help) We brought some grapes from the market. ( some before countable item “grapes”) She added some salt and pepper in the omelet. (Some before sugar-non countable item) SOME

  4. RULE 3 Rule 3. Use some in questions when offering and requesting something. Example: Would you like some bread?– offer. Could I have some water please?– request.

  5. ANY Any Rule 1. Use"any" in negative sentences or questions. Rule 2. Use any for both countable and uncountable • Example: 1. Have you got any bananas? (question) • No, we haven't got any. But we've gotsome oranges (negative reply.)
