  2. It started with a simple e-mail from a memberof our local Rolling Thunder organization, Mr. Jim Shekleton.

  3. Jim’s modest and selfless request was simply to have Charles County fly the POW/MIA Flag.

  4. On September 11, 2012, this request went before the Charles County Board of Commissioners.

  5. With all in agreement… A plan was put into action.

  6. …and with only two weeks to prepare, staff rallied together.

  7. Together we could make this simple request a reality.

  8. We could bring Francis DeSalesWills

  9. On September 25, the POW/MIA flag was raised at the Charles County Government Building in La Plata, Maryland.

  10. This day gave our County and the Will’s family an opportunity for closure...

  11. …and a chance to recognize ALL Prisoners of War, and soldiers that are still Missing in Action.

  12. On this day, September 25, 2012, Charles County committed to officially and permanently fly the POW/MIA flag.

  13. This is our call to action…

  14. …for all Counties in Maryland to recognize the sacrifice of our heroes that never came home.

  15. We have a responsibility.
