In this article: Setting up the Extension Sending an Email Engage for Gmail Side Panel Optional Setting Notes Release History   Engage for Gmail is a Chrome extension that lets you to send trackable emails directly from Gmail. Setting up the Extension 1. Click the Engage for Gmail button in Engage Sales Tools tab to download the extension from the Chrome Store. Contact your Salesforce Administrator if you can’t locate Engage Sales Tools — it must be configured. 2. Navigate to Chrome's extension manager by pasting chrome://extensions/ into the address bar or by navigating to Chrome's menu > More Tools > Extensions. 3. Find the Engage extension and click Options. 4. Click Login with Salesforce. 5. If prompted, enter your Salesforce credentials. 6. Click Allow. Sending an Email 1. In Gmail, compose a new email. 2. Click the Pardot cloud icon in the compose menu. 3. Mark Track clicks and opens to track the email. 4. Optional: Mark use default email selection for this record. If you have multiple prospects with the same email address, marking this box will track the email on a previously-selected record. 5. Enter a lead or contact email address in the To field. 6. To use an email template, mark Use a Template, and then select a template from the list. 7. When finished, click Send. Engage for Gmail Side Panel The Engage for Gmail side panel gives you access to more information about email thread participants. From the side panel you can: View available name, company title, address, and phone number for participants. View the score and grade for the corresponding Pardot prospect. View whether the a record is a lead, contact, or prospect. If the participant exists as a lead or contact in Salesforce, it will be linked to the record. View the prospect's recent marketing actions. Add and remove the prospect to and from lists using Add to Nurture. To use the side panel, open any of your tracked email threads.
