Literacy In writing we work hard to achieve these targets: • To write in complete sentences. • To write increasingly complex sentences. • To use capital letters and full-stops. • To use commas, exclamation marks and question marks appropriately. • To use ‘wow’ words for interest. • To use a variety of sentence openers.

  4. Literacy Reading • In school children read independently or with a reading buddy for 30 minutes every day. • The children also take part in a guided reading session each week, followed up with a comprehension task. • Reading at home should still be done on a daily basis if possible.

  11. Maths at Home! Please help by making maths part of your routine at home! Talk about shopping, time or even solve problems together. “There was 1kg of flour Jo. We’ve used 250g to bake the cake, how much flour do you think we’ve got left?”
