  2. Why do refresher training? 1. Introduction We can all learnbadhabits over time. We can forget importantthings we have learnt. We can learn new and betterways of doing things.

  3. Attitudes to Safety Your attitude to safety has a lot to do with how you operate as a forklift driver. Over the following slides we will look at different workers and how their attitude towards safety can make a difference. 2. Attitudes to Safety

  4. Which worker are you? Don’t know, don’t care 2. Attitudes to Safety If this is you then you are puttingyourself and those around you indanger. Open your eyes and getserious about safety before it’s too late!

  5. Safety as a Value What does it mean to say that you hold safety as a value? Does it mean you know that safety is important? Does it mean you do the right thing when you have enough time or only when the bossis watching? 2. Attitudes to Safety For safety to be a value you need to careabout safety. You need to care aboutyourself. You need to care about your co-workers. You need to have a respectfor safety and you need to understand the consequencesof working in an unsafeway. You are putting yourself and those around you in dangerby ignoring safety and/or becoming lazy with your work. Why risk it?

  6. What safety action must you take if there is a leak in the fuel system (or even if there may be a leak)? click for answer 1. STOP the forklift immediately! 2. If possible, turn off the fuel supply. 4. Report the leak to someone in charge. Keep the forklift away from others. 3.
