  4. Home Learning Homework timetable • Reading – 15 minutes daily (important!) • Multiplication Facts – 10 minutes daily • Class homework – 30 minutes • Spelling homework – 20 – 30 minutes Given on Friday and due in the following Wednesday. • French vocabulary – 5 minutes daily when given Given on Wednesday and to be learnt by next lesson.

How you can help in school • Morning reading in class (rotas already up) • With swimming (rotas already up) • Any special areas of expertise • ECSA meetings and events • Footpath patrol • Lunchtime help in the dining room • Financial assistance – by paying school fund and voluntary contributions promptly • Returning any forms on time

  6. Daily Procedures • Punctuality – gates open at 8:30, register is taken at 8:45am, first lesson begins at 8:50am. Children should be in class by 8:45am. • Fruit break needed at playtime • Every child needs a full water bottle each day (with no attachments) • Healthy lunch box • Children collected promptly at 3:15pm – please do not allow children to play on the climbing frame after school. • PE Days are:Mondays (indoor) and Thursdays (outdoor)

  7. How can you help your child? Reinforcing independence and responsibility. • Shoe laces • Ties • PE / Swimming kit (labelled and complete) • Handing in forms / homework in the morning

  8. Educational Visits • Imperial War Museum (12th December) • Craggy Island (17th January) • Openbox Theatre (28th February) • Hooke Court (10th-12th July)

  9. Assessment and Feedback • Children assessed through a variety of formal and informal methods • Parent Consultations in October, Learning Review Day in February, End of Year report next July
