  1. HBD Status C.Woody For the HBD Group Shift Change Meeting February 5, 2010

  2. Operational Status • Gains have been set for both East and West Detectors • Now running with 4K gain set • Balanced to ~ ± 20% • Reverse bias gap voltages checked and set • P/T range redefined to accommodate low pressure drops • EN2 has been disabled • Tried to increase gain to make this module useful but it developed more shorts • Tried installing zener voltage divider, but still got trips • May try lower voltage zeners at some point, but doesn’t look hopeful • Often get HBD busy which slows down DAQ rate • Don’t really know what the problem is, but best solution seems to be to do a Quick Feed followed by a fresh Download from Run Control • Online Monitoring is improved • Added warning when gains are out of range • Added plots showing pulse height spectra per pad for central events • HBD has been added to OnCal and is now running C.Woody, HBD Status, 2/5/10

  3. Quality of Electron Tracks in this Run • Vertex: for HBD analysis we usually use +/-20 cm, so the good fraction of the events will be thrown away • DC track quality: usually for electron analysis we use (31||51||63). Perhaps DC experts should comment whether the quality distribution looks reasonable • According to Taku all RICH distributions looks as usual • Matching to EMC looks OK • And finally E/p made with usual quality and RICH cuts, looks fine I.Ravinovich C.Woody, HBD Status, 2/5/10

  4. HBD Data after Reconstruction • HBD data looks reasonable • Matching distributions are OK • The cluster size as expected • The charge distribution of the cluster matched to the electron track from Central Arm is very similar to one observed in Run-9 • Needs much more statistics to go to the pair level (Dalitz pairs) in order to check the HBD performance, namely number of p.e. per single electron I.Ravinovich C.Woody, HBD Status, 2/5/10

  5. Backup Slides C.Woody, HBD Status, 2/5/10
