  2. Overview Purpose OCR Integration Towards one INT technology Issues OCR SR, PR Integration A way forward

  3. Purpose Converged Continental/OCR SPR/INT Documents Assumptions • SPR is technology independent (FANS or ATN) • ORs, SRs apply to DL appls, independent from INT technology • Significant commonality ORs & SRs btwn Continental & OCR • PRs specific to Continental & OCR, regardless INT technology • Transition to one INT DL Application package, independent from Continental or OCR. Benefits one DL Appl package: • Dvlpt and Maintenance easier and less costly in aircraft • Easier for flight crew to use common OSDs & ORs

  4. Overview Purpose OCR Integration Towards one INT technology

  7. POS-Oceanic Integration Approach6 April 2010 • From ED122/DO306 SR & PR perspective, 4 issues: • ED122/DO306 SR & PR maintain as they are in a specific annex for Oceanic Domain • Determine if use of current ED122/DO306 services in Continental Domain have a S & P effect on current assessment (78/214 approach) • Determine if use of current ED122/DO306 services in Oceanic Domain have a S & P effect on current assessment (78/214 approach) • ED122/DO306 SR & PR have to be reconciled with the SC214/WG78 Safety & Performance methodology • Determine if use of current WG78/SC214 services in Oceanic Domain have a S & P effect on current assessment (ED122/DO290 approach) ??

  8. Overview Purpose OCR Integration Towards one INT technology Issues OCR SR, PR Integration A way forward

  9. End-goal: Safety Common SRs SR SR Common SRs SR SR

  10. A way forward: Safety • Intermediate step: • Copy ED122/DO306, 5.1 – OSA results & 1.3.2.2 – Guidance SO quantification • Compare hazards Mapping of hazards • OHs, Severity classifications; SO values • Compare SRs  Mapping of SRs • Look for functional commonalities • End-goal: • Set of common SRs • Some domain specific SRs • Useful to keep hazard mapping & ED122/DO306, 5.1 & 1.3.2.2 ? • If so, explanations required in Annex A (OSA Approach) to not confuse local SPR user

  11. Challenges

  12. CPDLC SR comparison Example: CPDLC Hazard & SR comparison

  13. End-goal: Performance PR PR PR PR

  14. A way forward: Performance • PRs are domain specific • RCP Tables for OCR ATS Functions (GOLD style) • RCP Tables for Continental ATS Functions (Gold style) • Challenges • Explanations required in Annex D (OPA Approach) to not confuse local SPR user
