  3. Mission and aims • For CEE istypical just recent interest in themodern local government studies • The project aims at: • enhancing the focus on local government or related issues • advancing courses linked to local government

Partnership • First step:individualconnections to severalcolleagues • Second step:institutionalizationofthepartnership (agreements) • Third step: agreement on collaborationwithin IP and implementationofrelatedactivities • Fourth step: evaluation and agreement on continuation • Further (future) steps: • new partner universities • extensionofactivities (research, guestlectures, etc.)

Focus and intentionsofpartners • Project isaimedatthefieldoflocalgovernmentand relatedissues • Programmeaswellaspartnershipisinterdisciplinary - backgroundsoftheparticipantsvary a lot: economicshumangeographysociology politicalsciencemanagementpublicadministration regionalsciencepublicpolicyethics • Partnerswans to sharetheirknowledge and experiencein order to improve/increasetheircapacities

Methods • Uniquecombinationofhigh-levelkeynotelectures, interactiveseminars/workshops and presentations/discussionsfrompractice • Keynotelectures are given by thewell-known and distinguishedscholars/academicians • Youngteachersplayboth role ofparticipants (keynotelectures) and role ofteachers (seminars/workshops) – i.e. theyteach and learnthemselvesatthesametime • Finalresultsincludeevaluationofessays, writtentests, and opencoloquialdebates • 4 ECTS
