CHRISTMAS • Yule is Scottish for Christmas. • It was celebrated by Celtic pagans.. • Christmas Day only became a public holiday in 1958, and Boxing Day in 1974.The New Year's Eve festivity, Hogmanay, was the largest celebration in Scotland. The gift-giving, holidays winter were traditionally held between the 11th of December and 6 January.

Scottish Christmas meal • Christmas dinner in Scotland is usually eaten in the afternoon. • The traditional Christmas dinner of Scotland includes roast turkey or goose, and sometimes cranberry sauce poured on the turkey with roast vegetables(usually boiled ) with dessert of Christmas pudding , sometimes mince pies or trifle.
