  3. Removal of Old Door Step 1 – Remove Trim from inside Step 2 – Measure opening to insure new door will fit. Step 3 – Remove outside trim Step 4 – Take the door off the hinges

  4. Removal (cont.) Step 5 – Cut Away all nails/screws holding the door Step 6 – Remove the Casing • Video

  5. Installation Step 1 – Determine if the door will be at the proper height with respect to the finished floor Step 2 – Install water proofing flashing Step 3 – Set the new door in place Step 4 – Use shims on both sides near the top and bottom to level the door

  6. Installation (cont.) Step 5 – Check the reveal to ensure door is level Step 6 – Drive nails on the outside of the door casing where the shims are located • Video

  7. How to Insulate A New Door Step 1 – Fill gap between door casing and the stud with spray foam insulation Step 2 – Trim excess foam insulation Step 3 – Seal door jamb and door casing with water proof flashing

  9. Trim New Door Step 1 – Measure inside width of door casing and add ½ inch Step 2 – Measure trim and cut with a miter saw Step 3 – Install top trim with nails/nail gun Step 4 – Measure for side trim to the top side of the top trim piece
